Roadmap to Your Perfect Wedding | How Wedding Flowers Remain Fresh for Your Big Day
Welcome to our Roadmap to Your Perfect Wedding with Blush Wedding series — a curated guide where we take you behind the scenes of how we design, plan, and execute unforgettable celebrations. Each chapter reveals a new layer of the design process — from moodboards to the final touches — so you can see how your vision transforms into timeless beauty.
Planning your wedding can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to flowers: what styles you love, how many you need, and what your budget allows.
If you worry that wedding flowers only look beautiful for a few hours and wonder if the investment is worth it — we encourage you to take a holistic view of your wedding day.
Almost everything you plan; your dress, catering, or venue styling — exists for that one special moment. Flowers are unique, though: with careful preparation, the blooms in your bouquet, table arrangements, and decorative details stay fresh throughout the day, and even beyond. After the wedding, you can take them home, share them with your guests, or enjoy them for several more days in your own space. Achieving this takes deep expertise and attention to every stem.
Here’s how we make it happen at Blush Wedding.
1. Sourcing the Flowers
We start at the flower market early, choosing blooms that are fresh, vibrant, and perfectly sized. Each selection is guided by the couple’s color palette and the previously agreed design plan. Every flower is carefully inspected for quality, and thanks to years of practical experience, we know exactly which flowers are best sourced from which growers or wholesalers. Occasionally, we discover unique flowers that inspire the overall design. Carefully selected and quality-checked flowers last longer, look flawless in your wedding photos, and continue to bring beauty after the big day.
2. Safe Transport
Flowers are transported under ideal conditions: the right temperature and hydration are essential. Certain flowers, like hydrangeas or hellebores, are sensitive to heat, cold, or sudden temperature changes. Proper handling ensures every stem arrives fresh and ready for styling. Fortunately, our studio’s carefully selected location allows every flower to reach processing as quickly as possible, minimizing stress and preserving freshness. This step ensures your flowers can survive a warm ceremony or sunny photoshoot while maintaining their full bloom.
3. Preparation & Processing
Before becoming bouquets or table arrangements, flowers are prepped: stems are trimmed, leaves removed, and hydration solutions applied. This prolongs freshness and ensures they look flawless both live and in photographs. Some flowers, like tulips, continue to grow slightly after being cut, meaning the arrangements can actually “come alive” in the hours during your wedding. Once the flowers arrive, the processing phase begins. Depending on the quantity, this can take several hours or even up to half a day.

4. Arranging & Styling
Now comes the creative magic: flowers are assembled into bouquets, centerpieces, and decorative accents. Each arrangement is crafted with attention to color, texture, and balance. Thoughtful arrangements ensure your decor feels cohesive and impressive — exactly what you imagined for your day.
5. Delivery & Setup at the Venue
On the wedding day, we transport and set up the flowers with precision. Delicate blooms are refreshed or replaced as needed, so the arrangements remain perfect from the first photo to the last dance. Even in direct sunlight or warm conditions, flowers are hydrated and arranged to last throughout the event.
During the wedding day, the personal flowers — especially the bridal bouquet — spend the most time without water. To ensure they stay fresh, we transport them in vases and provide additional vases at the venue, including for the bridal bouquet during the dinner, so the flowers remain hydrated and beautiful throughout the day.

6. Enjoying Flowers Beyond the Wedding
Your blooms don’t have to disappear after the ceremony. Bouquets can be taken home, shared with guests, or enjoyed at the reception for a few more days. With proper care, the joy of fresh flowers can continue long after your wedding day. While everything else at your wedding exists for that single day, flowers offer a living keepsake, a tangible memory that can be cherished at home for a few days.
