Elegant elopement wedding in Vienna
Austria is a popular European destination not only during the winter season, but also for eloping couples. With it’s rich historic heritage of beatiful castles and impressive venues, having the opportunity to work in the beautiful baroque style Österreichische Nationalbibliothek was quite an experience on its own.
Nanxi and Chunhui chose Austria as the place for their destination wedding because of the culture and the beautiful city. The National Bibliotheq seemed a perfect location to renew their vows. They got married previously in 2020 in Shanghai, China where they are originally from.
Both studied law in Boston, and at the beginning of their relationship, most of their dates were arranged in no other place than the library, where they spent long hours studying together and getting to know each other. So it was only fitting that this beautiful, baroque-style library building became the perfect venue for their wedding.
Austrian wedding planner Fine Events Vienna, has already organized weddings in the most iconic landmarks of Vienna, and managed to put together quiet an international team of elopement vendors, with whom it was a pleasure to work together.
The couple stayed at the iconic Sacher Hotel Wien, which served as an elegant backdrop for the getting readys. After the sentimental first look the couple rode a white, horse carrier – a very classic Austrian custom– to the ceremony venue.
In the Bibliothek’s impressive hall we have previously set up four classic floral arrangements that echoed the library’s classic style. When selecting the flower’s colour scheme we wanted to make sure that it’s in harmony with the interior’s moody colours and the colours of the classic furnitures that we used for the ceremony.
The couple wrote their vows previously at the hotel, and they read it to each other, while in the background soft melodies were played by the quartet. After the ceremony the couple went out for an afterparty in the so called wine village of Vienna, which is famous for producing delicious wine and of the favourite of the couple. Of which they happened to ceremonially seal a bottle in a box, to open it next year.
Also the couple was kind enough to invite all the vendors for the afterparty dinner, where we congratulated and celebrated them, but before that we made sure to set up some decor as a surprise at the restaurant. It was a lovely night, filled with sentiments and beautiful moments.
